No. Although there was a problem with the initial screening test many years ago, there is no interference today since 1 million ng/ml of ibuprofen has no effect on the initial test. The manufacturer of the EMIT test changed the formulation of the reagent to eliminate this problem. This is another example of the necessity to do GC/MS which provides a molecular fingerprint of the drug.
