Does IBR require the use of special microbes?
No. Only naturally occurring microbes introduced in the waste itself are involved. Microbes are extraordinarily opportunistic and exploitive. Microbial communities arise spontaneously under virtually any set of circumstances, growing at the expense of the substrates (nutrients) in the surroundings. IBR provides optimal physical and process management circumstances for the growth and retention, specifically, of efficient methanogenic communities.
