Does Hypnotherapy really work?
Hi, SkepDoc could not be more wrong – s/he is simply repeating the age-old scepticism – often quoted by ‘old school’ and poorly read doctors who have not had the benefit of the teachings of the likes of Dr Milton Erickson (look him up and dare to call him a charlatan….). I am a qualified and experienced hypnotherapist and yes it does work – if the client wants it to. KepDoc claims just 20%-30% success rate with smoking – I can’t quote for other practitioners but for me it is nearer 90%. And as for brain wave activity – this really shows up the good doctors lack of knowledge on the subject. I actually own a brain wave monitor that clearly shows brain wave activity in both cranial lobes in the beta, alpha, theta and delta wavebands – activity that is achieved through hypnotic trance.
