Does hypermedia affect user learning?
With Ralph Gabbard, a literature review of the last 5 years of published experimental studies on hypermedia in educational applications is being conducted. Our intention is to synthesize the findings to date and to suggest areas that need further research. Preliminary analysis indicates that the majority of wiritngs on new technology of this kind have little empirical content, and that the case for hypermedia in learning scenarios can not be taken for granted.
