Does Horlicks contain any artificial sweeteners?
Yes, Horlicks Extra Light uses Aspartame as a sweetener. Scientific opinion has concluded that aspartame is safe for human consumption within the levels directed by the food and drink regulations. GSK only uses aspartame in tiny quantities, far below maximum daily intake set by food and drink regulations. It only needs to use such small amounts because aspartame is 200 times sweeter than sugar, and enables sweetness to be added without extra calories or contributing to tooth decay.
