Does homework count in the overall score of a student?
No. To reliably assess a student’s level of understanding, assessments must be given in the classroom where the teacher can observe student performance directly. Homework is used as a tool to help students practice what they have learned in class and to prepare for upcoming learning, but it cannot be used for assessment purposes as it doesn’t accurately communicate what a student knows. Homework completion is included as part of a student’s work management score under Moral Focus.
