Does Hip-Hop culture give African-Americans a bad image problem?

Depends on what image you want. If you like the arrogant felon impression then you might say it gives you a good image. I think a lot of the violent, womanizing, drug dealing language can create for yourself a bad self-image. I used to listen to some hip-hop but I found I didn’t like the way it made me feel about myself. It is cool to be a hoodlum when you are a teenager, but listening to that kind of message as an adult can be counter-productive if you want to foster within yourself a positive self-image and a constructive view of society.
