Does High Blood Pressure during Pregnancy cause Heart Problems in long run?
Hypertension effect during pregnancy varies depending on the factors and disorders. According to National High Blood Pressure Education Program (NHBPEP), preeclampsia does not increase woman’s risk in the development of chronic hypertension and other heart problems. According to NHBPEP, women with normal blood pressure who developed preeclampsia after their twentieth week of first pregnancy, develop short term complications like increase in blood pressure- generally go away within six weeks after delivery. However, some women may develop hypertension or heart diseases in long run. More research has to be done to determine the health effects of high blood pressure disorders during pregnancy and also better methods have to be developed for identifying and diagnosing and, also for treating women suffering from these. Though hypertension and other disorders may be serious during pregnancy, women with hypertension and those suffering from preeclampsia have healthy babies. Regular prenatal c
