Herbal fen-phen is a product that does not contain fenfluramine, dexfenfluramine, or phentermine. Products called “herbal fen-phen” often contain a combination ofephedra(an ephedrine containing herb) and caffeine, but may also contain other herbal ingredients. FDA has not reviewed these herbal products for safety or efficacy. Ephedrine is pharmacologically different from fenfluramine and dexfenfluramine.
