Does HDTV system facilitate the teleconference mentoring for student teachers and Lesson Study for inservice teachers?.
College of Education at Shinshu University introduced new and easy-to-use HDTV (high definition TV)-based videoconference systems between demonstration schools and the university campus. We have two main goals on the application of the system, that is, (1) to observe student teachers f introductory fieldwork at our demonstration schools and to facilitate their reflection from a distant campus as field supervisors, and (2) to observe demonstration school teachers f lessons synchronously and to attend Lesson Study meeting as advisors. The system enable us to operate HDTV remote-controlled circling cameras and to capture pre- and in-service teachers f notepad very clearly so that we can attend their reflection meeting and lesson study meeting lively.
