Does having subcooling on a vapour compression system affect mass flow rate if no superheat?

You’re right there Subcooling takes place between the Condenser and the Expansion device Superheat occurs in the evaporator, and to a lesser degree down the suction line – useful and non-useful superheat respectively Sub cooling doesn’t change the massflow rate of a compressor, but will make the refrigeration system more efficient, so that in total (or in a theoretical open system) less refrigerant would be used to poerfom the same cooling effect
