Does having 4 credit cards make my score worse or better?

There are a lot more details behind whether or not it will raise or lower your credit score. If your debt to income ratio is poor, then it will lower your score. It also depends on the limit on these cards. If you get these two other cards, and you max them out, or come near to maxing them out, then yes, it will definitely hurt your score. But if you have a good debt to income ratio, make your payments on time, and don’t max (or nearly max) out your cards then you should be okay. However, when the time comes for you to get a mortgage I suggest you get pre-qualified before you start looking around; the more credit limit you have, the less you have available towards a mortgage. Getting pre-qualified will let you know what you can afford, and if you want to consider getting rid of any credit cards.
