Does Hard Water Cause Eczema?
Hard water is known to aggravate Eczema and other skin conditions but as far as we are aware there is no scientific or medical confirmation that it is actually a cause of initiating Eczema, however we do know that hard water scale deposits do exasperating the condition and can cause high levels of discomfort. Just imagine million of tiny pieces of rock (Calcium) many times smaller than the particles on a sheet of sand paper – then visualise these particles on your skin, stuck in the pores along with residues of soap and detergent ‘scum’ rubbing and aggravating you 24 hours a day – imaging the drying effect of hard water as the natural oils are cut through and prevented from keeping your skin naturally moist as nature intended, and that is very bad for delicate sensitive skin that needs gentle loving care but that’s not all there is more – much more ….. Hard water scale and scum will not rinse from your clothing and bed linen properly so you have the added disadvantage of these residues
