Does grout have to be cleaned before stain sealing?

A. New grout is ready for protection 10 days after installation and does not need to be cleaned first. On older tile areas, the grout joints must be clean and free of dust, dirt, grease, oil, sealers, or coatings of any kind. Use our Heavy Duty Grout Cleaner or a light acid wash and rinse until grout is free of residue to prepare grout for protection.
