Does GRMC take Medicare HMOs?
GRMC has no current contracts that provide Medicare HMO coverage. However, if you have an emergency, GRMC will stabilize you and assist in your transfer to another facility that accepts your Medicare HMO coverage. 12.I recently visited the Emergency Room with a minor condition. Normally, patients are seen on a first-come- first-served basis; however, if someone comes in with a more serious condition, such as chest pains or severe trauma, these patients will be seen before those with minor medical emergencies. GRMC does have a minor medical emergency room, as well as a regular emergency treatment area so that appropriate care can be directed for faster service.
