Does Greenland belong to Canada, Denmark, or the United Kingdom?
Greenland is a part of Denmark; it is a a self-governing province. Greenland was discovered by Erik the Red (from Iceland) and Greenland became part of the Kingdom of Norway in 1261. As Denmark in 1536 took control of Norway (until the British in 1814 forced Denmark to “give” Norway to Sweden), Denmark also took control of Greenland. Greenland has never ever been a part of Canada or of the UK.
