Does gravity travel at the speed of light?

0

Joe is correct in that the Theory of Relativity predicts that gravity should travel as fast as c (the speed of light). Quantum physicists are currently looking to prove the existence of gravitons, or the particles that they believe actually make up the effect of gravity. Many of those physicists believe that gravitons exist as superlight particles alomst on the same level as tachyons. (Some even think that tachyons may be a form of graviton particles.) Currently there is no evidence to prove that gravity’s affects travel faster than the speed of light, so everyone pretty much accepts that it does. The main problem with proving it one way or another is that there is no known way to generate more gravity in a certain area. If one could instantly generate more of a gravitational effect in a given area, then they could also measure how long it took for the gravitational effects to be felt by another object some distance away. Currently, there is no known way of generating gravity or even c
