Does Grape Seed Extract Have Resveratrol?
Grape seed extract is becoming increasingly popular as a health supplement thanks to its high levels of polyphenols, which are powerful antioxidants. The dominant polyphenol in pure grape seed extract is proanthocyanidin, but it does also contain modest levels of Resveratrol. Some grape seed extract products are made from muscadine grapes, which have naturally elevated Resveratrol levels. This has only recently been discovered, however, and most commercially available products are currently made from regular grapes, the seeds of which contain only a small amount of Resveratrol.
