Does GPEN allow postings about political activities and political advocacy?
GPEN operates under federal 501c3 guidelines which do not allow us to do political advocacy such as promoting political candidates or parties. Our legal advisors also have advised not to publish calls to action such as “Contact your political representative” to vote in a certain way on a bill or regulatory ruling. As we are an information publisher, it is, however, ok for us to publish an excerpt and link to a story published in a neutral way, such as a newspaper article about the fact that something is coming up for a vote and some of the issues and major players.
