Does gold tarnish?

0

The pure gold does not tarnish. It’s the other metals used in gold alloy which do and so the lower the gold content in any alloy the more likely and the quicker the tarnishing process will occur. Gold of 18ct is very resistant to tarnishing, but 14ct and lesser carat gold tarnish slowly in air. The tarnish on gold items is not so obvious in their appearance because of their colour.

No, gold does not tarnish or corrode. Your gold coins will retain their color and brightness, literally forever.
