Does George Osbornes – Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer – attendance at Bilderberg 2008, contravene UK Law?

I wasn’t aware there was such a thing as “Parliamentary Law” which prevents MPs from any party from attending any event they might wish. To be honest, I’d be a bit concerned if there were, as who would then decide what was an appropriate and what was inappropriate. If the electors in George Osborne’s constituency object to him going there, they will have the chance to vote him out at the next General Election. But I can’t see that being at the top of their list of concerns somehow.
