Does Genetic Alliance BioBank have its own institutional review board (IRB)?
Genetic Alliance BioBank has established an IRB with experts in the field, many of whom serve on other IRBs. GABB organizational members receive IRB-approved templates and documents, including protocols, consents, child assents, researcher application for samples, and material transfer agreements, among others. These template documents are completed by the member organizations and then reviewed by the IRB, along with any other recruitment materials. The IRB also reviews any changes to the protocol over time. The IRB chair is available to answer specific questions as they arise in the operations of the BioBank.
