Does Generac use a specially designed engine for its bi-fuel generators?

0

No. While some bi-fuel engines require special dedicated designs with high costs, Generac has reduced costs by equipping a mass-produced and well-proven 12 liter diesel truck engine with external componentry and controls for NG integration. Therefore, the same engine used for our diesel generators is used for equivalent bi-fuel generators. Although the engine is essentially standard, we have conducted comprehensive testing and fuel ratio mapping to ensure safe, reliable operation under all combinations of load and temperature.
