Does GameSpy reduce my lag?
No. GameSpy simply helps you find the most playable server you can get with your current connection onto the internet. It doesn’t do anything to your system to improve performance. Also we are NOT a online game service, like TEN, Mplayer, etc, where they have their own dedicated lines, and servers. GameSpy, and the servers listed are all public servers ran by people who simply want to have a public server to be used by everyone and anyone. GameSpy just makes it easier to find the servers. • Will there be a Mac, Linux, DOS, or Windows 3.1/ Win32s version of GameSpy? We are investigating converting GameSpy to other operating systems. Don’t ask when, we are only in the preliminary stages of this. GameSpy does work on WinNT 4.
