Does FundAccess offer the same fund account options that I would receive if I purchased shares directly from the fund company?
No. Your fund shares from another fund company are held in Vanguard Brokerage Services’ name (or street name). Therefore, FundAccess cannot offer the various account options—such as checkwriting and direct deposits—that the fund company may offer to individual investors. When you invest through FundAccess, however, you do benefit from the options available for your Vanguard money market settlement account, which holds the cash proceeds from your trades and your investment earnings. (Of course, your Vanguard fund accounts offer a wide range of options.
