• A • FREM has several Child Safety Seat Technicians located at various stations throughout the county available to install seats. Installations are performed Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., preferably by appointment two weeks prior to the child’s expected due date. Those without an appointment, walking-in, wishing to have a car safety seat installed may not be able to be accommodated at that time. However, FREM will make every attempt to find a suitable time for both the parent and the technician to have the seat installed. To be referred to the nearest technician, please contact FREM Administration at (540) 507-7900. Evening and weekend installations can be arranged by contacting Chancellor Volunteer Fire & Rescue (CVFR)at (540) 786-8304.
