A user-supported patch to FreeS/WAN 1.3, for smart card style authentication, is available on Bastiaan’s site. It supports skeyid and ibutton. This patch is not part of Super FreeS/WAN. For a while progress on this front was impeded by a lack of standard. The IETF working group has now nearly completed its recommended solution to the problem; meanwhile several vendors have implemented various things.
