Does FPL have any information on remedial or field treatment of wood?
Cut ends of preservative-treated wood should be treated with a preservative prior to installation. For wood originally treated with creosote, pentachlorophenol, or waterborne preservatives, one option is a copper naphthenate solution containing 2% copper metal. Consult your supplier for information on other combinations of preservatives that might be employed for specific situations. The cut ends may be treated by brushing, spraying, dipping, soaking, or coating the surface with the remedial treatment. Users should carefully read and follow the instructions and precautions listed on the product label of the remedial treatments being used for that purpose.
