Does ForensicJet supply both dye and pigment based inks, and what is the difference?

0

Yes, we do. Both dye and pigment inks for Epson and Canon printers are water based. The difference is that with a dye based ink the colorant is liquid so the ink is a true solution and contains no solids. In a pigment ink, the colorant is a very fine powder that is dispersed through out the ink. Generally speaking, a dye based ink gives brighter and more vivid color than a pigment ink but is less fade resistant. However, the latest pigment coating technologies (as used by ForensicJet) make pigments nearly as good as dyes for color rendition.
