Does footage taken by CCTV cameras fall within the definition of personal data?
I think unless and untill your the suspect it will not harm you. I would prefer to go for a security camera because this will surely help me feel secured. In case any thing happens to me i will have proper evidence so that the criminal will be caught. more.
Footage taken by CCTV cameras is taken to fall within the category of personal data as it relates to an individual as it is footage of that individual. Furthermore when this CCTV footage is held by a public body such as a local council in order to assist the police then this will be regarded as personal data. Accordingly an individual will have a legal right under the Data Protection Act to be provided with access to this data.
