Does food get underneath the fixed bridge?
Food does occasionally get underneath the temporary bridge because of the small gap that develops as the gums heal. Once the healing process is complete, the bridge is refitted. The permanent bridge is very flush with the gums, and is much more difficult to get food underneath. Using the Water Pik on the permanent bridge is more helpful than trying to floss due to the lack of space.
