Actually, yes, especially self-rising flour, which can lose its self-rising properties quickly if you store it somewhere warm, like in a tin right beside your stove. If you keep flour somewhere that is not airtight for more than 6 months or so, your baking products will not taste as fresh or rise as well. You don’t want to keep all-purpose flour for more than 6 months, unless it has been kept in the frige or freezer. It is best to keep flour of any kind in your freezer, believe it or not.
