Does Floradix affect the ferritin levels in the body?
From Taber’s “Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary” – Ferritin: An iron-phosphorous-protein complex containing about 23% iron. It is formed in the intestinal mucosa by the union of ferric iron with a protein “apoferritin”. Ferritin is the form in which iron is stored in the tissues, principally in the reticulo-endothelial cells of the liver, spleen, and bone marrow. Since this iron is produced in the intestinal mucosa, which is where the Floradix is absorbed, it is most likely that it can increase the ferritin iron levels.
