Does Flint Hills RECA have any kind of surge protection devices?
We have a surge protection device that mounts on the side of the meter box. This device will dissipate lightning surges that come in from the high voltage lines. If the surge device should fail, all household electrical devices are warranted up to $5000 per item not to exceed $50,000 per failure. The cost for this is $4.95 per month. To handle other points of lightning surges from entering the house, Flint Hills RECA recommends using point of use surge strips. These strips are available at Flint Hills RECA’s main office or any hardware/electronic retail store.
