Does FIT provide staff in the residence halls?
Yes. The Residential Life Department is staffed with a Director, Assistant Directors, and Resident Counselors who live on campus and work in the Residential Life office 9 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday. A resident counselor is on call for emergency response when the Residential Life office is closed. The paraprofessional staff includes senior resident assistants and resident assistants, student staff who live on each residence hall floor and are responsible for developing a community environment that is conducive to learning, socializing, and developing responsible behavior. They serve as a liaison between the residents and the college, and as a source of information for both educational and personal concerns. In addition to the duties listed above, senior resident assistants have scheduled office hours every evening from 8:00 pm to 12:00 midnight. Their office is located in the Coed Hall lobby.
