Does FileClerk have optical character recognition (OCR) capabilities?
Yes. One of the keys to a truly powerful imaging system is the ability to automaticallly index scanned documents. Another key feature is to be able to define multiple refions on a form and automatically send the recagnized text to the database or accounting system of your choice. By allowing automatic indexing via this technology, the indexing capabilities of FileClerk are greatly enhanced. Batch scanning and processing will allow you to handle the maximum number of documents. In conjunction with the zone flexibility in forms processing provided by OCR, users of FileClerk can maximize the benefits of the imaging system. Preprocessing corrects skewed documents and filters out lines, borders, and specks for reduction of the stored image file size (by as much as 40 percent). Post-recognition support provides spelling and context verification.
