Does Fermis paradox exist and what is the exact phrase?
I recommend that you read the Wikipedia article on the (so-called) Fermi paradox; It’s easy to read, if rather long, well-balanced and in places quite humorous. It gives an exhaustive review of the views and opinions of different groups following Fermi’s original question many years ago. Basically Fermi reasoned – the galaxy is enormously old and contains an extraordinary number of stars, so there must be many civilisations around us. So why have we not detected them? The problem is that if you try to estimate just how many civilisations there are, as does the Drake equation, you realise just how little information we have about the characteristics of life on planets in general, and the results can lie anywhere between 1 (that’s us) and some very large number. So it’s not really a paradox, because there is no supporting evidence for his initial assertion, and it’s not unreasonable to believe that we are (currently) the only more or less advanced civilisation in the galaxy. And that pos
