I’ve been looking into this as well, and there are a lot of people that are quick to dismiss the idea of fasting, and most of the rest claim benefits which may list sources to verify if their claims are accurate or not. It seems to break down like this to me: Fasting is not a new thing. There are reports of it happening all the way back from Biblical times and it’s assumed to have been going on in prehistory. As far as physical effects, I’m undecided. The arguments saying “Fasting is Bad, don’t be a fool” and “Your body needs food to survive, duh – eat!” have not been thought through well correctly. In a way the human body is designed to fast. The average human can survive 3 weeks without food if they needed to. The body will compensate, with fat, stored glucose, a slowing of the metabolism. This isn’t starving, its keeping us from starving by living off the reserves that we store. As for the excess stomach acid, well that wouldn’t happen, because as soon as you body realizes that it w
