Does everyone think they have the most beautiful children?
Samira, I’m certain that everyone thinks his/her child is the smartest, cutest, funniest, most beautiful being ever born. Having said that, at some point the infatuation does wear off. It’s a good thing babies are cute because they need so much attention and sacrifice from their parents. Cuteness is actually an evolutionary adaptation to enhance babies’ chances of survival.
My children were adorable when they were born, and they grew up into attractive people. It really bothered me when they put them in the hospital nursery with all of them “ugly babies”. (Just kidding) I don’t think it was just bias on my part. People would approach us in town or at the mall just to look at our children. I had a best friend whose children were so homely that their own grandmother told me I was blessed to have such cute kids.
