Does everyone automatically get approved to receive the service by filling out the application?
No. Each application goes through an enrollment criteria check. If the customer meets the enrollment criteria, approval is granted. If a new customer does not get approved, they will be offered an Advance Payment Option Program whereby they can send a check or money order made payable to Z-Tel in the amount of $70.00, and be activated. This $70.00 check is credited to the first bill, which usually includes a pro-rata amount to get the service to the next billing cycle. If this bill is over $70.00, the overage is carried over to the next month. If it is less, it is shown as a credit on the next months service. The first bill will usually arrive within a week of the service being activated. On the Advance Payment Option, the first bill will also include the charges for the second full month. The customer will usually have 20 days to pay this second month. After the first bill, service will be billed monthly just like any other service.
