No; not everybody needs a mound system although since the M.P.C.A rule changes in the mid 1990’s many more are being designed and installed. A mound system is used when there is not suitable soil present on a site for proper treatment of the waste water generated in your house. If you line in an area where you have mostly sand then it is very possible that you will not need a mound.
