Does every WI need to have an MCS representative?
We’re delighted to have the ability to communicate directly with all our members through the Membership Communication System (MCS). The vast majority of members’ details are now on the MCS, allowing us to send them regular information on all aspects of our organisation through WI Life. However, it’s crucial the MCS is kept up to date to take into account members joining, moving and leaving WIs, and the change of officers and that’s why it’s important to have MCS reps in as many WIs as possible. Not all WIs can find someone with a computer to take on this role, in which case many federations take on this responsibility. However, each WI still ideally needs someone to take on the responsibility of passing information to whoever is making the changes. MCS reps are asked to update their members’ records when necessary.
