Does every state have a cancer registry?
Yes, every state has a cancer registry but they are at varying levels of development. Many programs do not have the resources available to implement all aspects of a cancer registry program. Many registries collect incidence data only that are used for cancer control activities in their states. Others such as Iowa also collect follow-up information that is used for survival analyses.
