Does every prison in america do strip searches?
Hello Ryan. I will answer this, but first will respectfully disagree with the detention lawyer who states strip searches are unconstitutional and illegal. Possibly since he is presentence, strip searches are not done, but I dont see how. When any person is admitted to prison, a strip search ( in Ohio ) is mandatory. Any time an inmate goes on a trip, a strip search is mandatory. When an inmate goes into and leaves visitation, a strip search is mandatory. Contraband is brought into the institution in this manner and is why strip searches are performed. The actual procedure would be as follows: As you disrobe, you hand each item of apparel to the Officer, who will check it to make sure nothing is hidden inside. Once nude, you will run your fingers through your hair. If you have false teeth, you will remove them and hold them out in plain sight. You will run your finger through your mouth and gum lines.
