Does every cat with FeLV or FIV get sick and die?
Actually, no. Many cats who are exposed to FeLV or FIV develop an immunity to it and can live out long, healthy lives. However, for some, the virus may remain dormant in the body for a period of time, and then suddenly become active after the cat has been unduly stressed or perhaps medicated with a drug that suppressed her immune system, such as Prednisone.
