Does etax work on an Apple mac computer?
Since the ATO launched etax in 1997 it’s only been available for users of Microsoft Windows, much to the annoyance of taxpayers who use Apple Computer’s Mac OS X or Linux operating systems. In 2007 the ATO finally contracted IBM to completely redesign eTax, add more features and make it available to anyone with Internet access. Commissioner of Taxation Michael D’Ascenzo has said “We will test this with a small group of users in 2008, aiming to make it available more broadly in future years – pending the success of the trials.
