Does Employment Security have a role in putting welfare clients to work?
A. As part of the WorkFirst partnership, Employment Security has primary responsibility for assessing whether welfare recipients are ready for work or need training and then helping them conduct an effective job search. This may include connecting them with employers that are hiring and assisting them with the transition from welfare to work.
