Does Emmanuel practice the taking of communion?
Yes. We believe that communion is a symbolic act of obedience where members, by taking the bread and juice, remember the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Communion is a time to reflection and confession of any known sins that are keeping the believer from having a close relationship with the Lord. We believe participating in communion is something the Lord has commanded for believers to do until He returns. (Matthew 26:26-29; I Corinthians 11:23-32). Communion is incorporated into services at Emmanuel several times throughout the year.
