DOES ELTON JOHNS RESIGNATION MEAN WATFORDS RELEGATION?
After the untimely, and unexpected, departure of Aidy Boothroyd from Watford many pundits are predicting that the Hornets could very well be odds-on candidates for relegation at this point in the season. Watford is hovering just above the relegation zone at this point and a bad run of form caused by uncertainty in the club’s management structure could be a distinct possibility. A-A-A-A-Aidy! Things have gone from bad to worse as today, Sir Elton John announced that “In light of recent developments, he (Sir Elton) feels he cannot remain in any formal position within the club.” John had been acting as Watford’s life President after two stints as club chairman. Elton’s steady hand has guided the club since 1976 when the Hornets were mired in the old Fourth Division.
