Does either SCR or AEGR require additional components or add additional weight?
Yes, they both do. SCR requires only the addition of a DEF tank and SCR catalyst, while AEGR will require a larger engine to achieve similar horsepower and torque ratings, a larger radiator for cooling and, in some cases, an additional turbo. In the end, both of these technologies are expected to add a similar amount of additional weight to the motorhome.
